Catherine and Cathy Create A New Challenge Blog.

I am so thrilled and honoured to be asked to be a part of a Design Team  for a brand new Challenge Blog called Catherine and Cathy Create.   And I get to put a brand new badge on my blog!

They will have lots of different challenges and teams so please drop by and check it out.  I will be part of the Cards team.
So to get started, and to play along, just for fun, I created a card for their first challenge, which was a Colour Challenge.  CCC # 1 , the July Colour Challenge, was to use Raspberry Ripple, Cool Cabana and Basic Black as inspired by this photo :

Here's My Card....

I cut a piece of Raspberry Ripple DSP from the Print Poetry DSP Pack (it looks a little red in this picture - sorry about that ), and used the Finishing Touches Edgelit to make the cute zigzag frame.  My new favourite sentiment set is Sassy Salutations; I stamped the Happy Birthday in Raspberry Ripple and then cut it out with the Ovals Collection Framelits.  I wanted a small Basic Black border to match the border around the card so I had to fussy cut that to get it the size I wanted. A few Coastal Cabana  butterflies stamped in Smokey Slate and then cut out with the Bitty Butterfly punch.  Add some basic rhinestones for a little bling and it was done.

Summer Sunflower

Here's My Card for the Friday Mashup 114.  This challenge highlights the Brickwall Technique, which was new to me.  What a cool technique; a little time consuming but I think it is well worth it for a special card.  Just can't get enough of the Mashup!  Always great challenges.

I chose the stamp set Summer Sunflower, an old SU retired set, but one I have hung on to.  I stamped on Newsprint DSP in Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso and positioned the leaves and the flower centre with my stamp-a-ma-jig.  Leaves are stamped in Always Artichoke and the Centre in Early Espresso . I also used a mask here to position the leaves where I wanted them.  The DSP is from Comfort Cafe, the trim in Always Artichoke is cut with Edgelits and the card is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.

A Day at Lester's Farm - Digital Scrapbook Page

Here's My Card...or should I say My Page for the MDS Monday Challenge # 19

This is my first attempt at a digital challenge and it was great!  I have so much to learn about MDS but this is a great way to do it.

My daughter and I took her kids to Lester's Farm as they were having a Breast Cancer fundraiser; the day was quite chilly, but the kids had fun!

Birthday Spinner!

Here's My Card for Mojo Monday 298.  This was a fun sketch that came along just in time!
I was struggling with a card I was working on for an upcoming class.  I really wanted to use the Stampin'
Up! Take A Spin set to create a boys birthday card and this sketch was the perfect fit.

The colours are Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise.  The DSP is from Big Top Birthday and the Brights DSP Stack, both retired.  The Take A Spin set is also retired but I can't part with it.

Here are the other two cards we'll be doing in the class.  Both CASE'd from Pinterest.

Love this one!  The elephant is totally made from punches.

This one is in Wisteria Wonder but the picture does not do it justice.  The DSP is from Sweet Shop, the sentiment is from a SAB set called Patterned Occasions and the cupcake was made with the CupCake Builder punch.

Here's the inside.  Sentiment from Birthday Bakery.
